Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ design
There is no such extra new in this design although the main difference is in their screen size you you can say that it is the bigger version of the previous galaxy S6 edge. The original galaxy S6 Edge had a 5.1-inch screen, the Edge+ bumps that up to 5.7 inches, the same size as the galaxy Note 5 display, which isn’t curved like galaxy s6 edge.
Like the regular sized Galaxy S6 Edge, the new S6 Edge+ has a Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and back. The battery is sealed under the back panel and cannot be removed similar to the galaxy S6 (Note 5 back is also non removable and battery is also pack up in the back) . There is also no micro SD card slot. The aluminum frame is smooth to the touch, and the device is a bit on the slippery side. Its predecessor lacked grip too; this one is awkwardly large as well, Samsung has generally increase the size of its phone up to 5.7 inches the same as the galaxy note 4 and Note 5.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ has a significantly larger footprint than its smaller sibling like Samsung galaxy s6 and S6 edge. Its more than 12 mm taller than the S6 Edge, and 5 mm wider. Oddly, it is thinner than the S6 Edge by a millimeter, and at 153 g, is 16 percent heavier than their smaller siblings. The S6 Edge+ has the same size display as the Note 5, but is not quite as wide and a little taller overall. But Samsung, has increase the size of S6 Edge+ and it will be a familiar size for those who are used to the Note series.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ display
The S6 Edge+ display has the same Quad HD resolution as the original device (2,560 x 1,440 pixels). But because those pixels are spread out over a larger area, the pixel density drops to 518 pixels per inch as compared to the 577 ppi on the S6 Edge. So we have a lesser screen pixels in this device.
The S6 Edge+ is basically a Note 5 without an S Pen. Samsung has made an interesting move by bringing a Note-sized 5.7-inch display to an Edge variant, and it is also confirmed that there will be Galaxy Note 5 edge. So this is interesting and also that Samsung has increase the size of a typical S series handset to its Note series display.
Like most of the Samsung screens, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ display is a Super AMOLED full HD display, which provides a nice brightness, sharp detail and saturated colors. Super AMOLED displays are also more battery-friendly than your average LCD screen, because of the way they can light up individual pixels so it reduces the battery consumption that is why Samsung batteries are lot more stand by time than any other handset.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ software
The new curvature of the S6 Edge+ display is reflected in the software features of the phone. If you are familiar with the Galaxy S6 Edge you’ll already know such a functions like People Edge, Notification Stream and Night Clock, but these features have been refined and improved on the Galaxy S6 Edge+. So it will perform well in this handset.
now in this device you have a second Apps Edge screen, where you can keep shortcuts to your favorite apps. Information Stream returns and allows you to display battery life, weather details, stocks and more plus you can also have widgets in this section which will improve more functions in this device.
touching a contact on People Edge section will provide you with more options than there were on the original S6 Edge. In addition you also have a voice calling, messaging and emailing, you now have the options to quickly send a photo or emoji, or start a video call to any of your contact any time and from any place.
The S6 Edge+ also features Samsung Pay the same as we have discussed in the Galaxy Note 5 Pay section, it allows you to pay via credit card with your phone. The system supports both existing MST (magnetic secure transmission) payment terminals as well as the newer NFC-equipped terminals.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ performance
The new Samsung galaxy S6 Edge+ has an additional gigabyte of RAM that is it has been upgraded to 4 GB and it also has a larger battery, but the other specifications are otherwise identical to the previous variant.
The basic specs include an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor with 4 GB of RAM. There’s a 32 GB and 64 GB version available but no micro SD card or 128 GB version and the S6 Edge+ has a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery. The S6 Edge+ also a has dual LTE support for Cat. 9 and Cat.6, which is great if you are living in backward areas because this technology performs very well in this type of area where there is a problem with network connection’s plus this is the first set that has include this feature in the processor.
As we have also discussed in the previous post of Galaxy Note 5, We already know what the Exynos 7420 is capable of, with four cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and four at 1.5 GHz. Adding an additional gigabyte of RAM should make it even more fluid and increase its multitasking potential. We’ll bring you full benchmarks and performance testing in our full Galaxy S6 Edge+ review.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ battery
The S6 Edge+ battery is a 3,000 mAh non-removable cell. But it is too early to say anything whether Samsung’s battery optimizations and Android Lollipop’s power management are enough to squeeze out meaningful battery life, as the previous model of Samsung was showing not a good result but we will see when this device comes in the hands of user then we will make a final decision.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ battery follows the pattern established by the shift from the S5 to S6 and Note 4 to Note 5 by getting smaller. (The Note 5 has a 3,000 mAh battery compared to the Note 4 3,220 mAh cell; the Galaxy S5 had a 2,800 mAh battery and the S6 has a mere 2,550 mAh.) which is very strange because Samsung has change the strategy of their battery life.
On the plus side, the S6 Edge+ features a new battery charging technology from Samsung, which supports fast wireless charging, so you can completely charge your phone wirelessly in two hours. This is an optional extra though and is not included in the box. You do get a fast charging cabled adapter though, which can charge your S6 Edge+ in just 90 minutes.
The S6 Edge+ can still be charged wirelessly using any existing wireless charger, but you won’t be able to enjoy turbo charging wirelessly without the special Samsung charging platter.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ camera
This device is featured with a 16 mega pixels back camera with optical image stabilization and a 5 mega pixels front facing camera with auto focus. The main sensor is a Sony IMX240 with an aperture of f/1.9 on both front and back. When shooting video, footage is stabilized by VDIS, which is a software-based stabilization technique
It is now also possible to share private live streams via YouTube with other Galaxy S6 users, direct from the phone. This is initiated by sending a link to the user with whom you want to stream. So Samsung has added many more features in this device when it will launch in the market we will bring you an inside review of everything.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ release date and price
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ release date is slated for August 21 in the US and Canada, as these mobile phones are publically announced by Samsung company yesterday at Samsung unpacked event 2015.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ price has already been revealed by some retailers and it looks like you’ll be paying around US$800 for the 32 GB version and $890 for the 64 GB version of-contract. For a two-year deal, you’ll pay US$349.99 for 32 GB and US$449.99 for 64 GB handset.
Although while discussing all the points about this mobile phone in detail in the post, we can say that this mobile is simply beautiful in design and features are very improved. The design and screen quality is really precious having a full QHD display quality more pixels per inch and curved edges from Samsung.
The only drawback which till now we are expecting is
- Removing SD card slot
- Non removable Battery.
- Lesser Pixels per inch.
But Yes these arte only perceptions and we cannot say final words now. Other than Samsung has also added some positive features like Samsung Pay and some wireless charging feature.
Plus finally the last but not the lease Samsung has added a significantly best, unique or you can say a gorgeous feature to this phone. Introducing a physical keyboard with this Samsung galaxy S6 edge+, which you can connect to the lower part of the screen and use the cell phone with the physical appearance keyboard. So Samsung is again winning the competition with this feature, although the full review of this physical keyboard and extra features will be discussed after the launch oif thi9s mobile phone in the market.
