Intel Announces New Skylake Processors Family

Yesterday Intel officially launched their New entire Skylake processors lineup which features new 4.5W to 65W Skylake-S, Skylake-H, Skylake-U and Skylake-Y CPUs With DDR4 support, are the
news processors for the 6th generation platform. The new Skylake-S lineup consist of a total of 8 new SKUs while the rest of the Skylake-H, Skylake-U and Skylake-Y will also make their first appearance with the latest Skylake core architecture.

Intel Revealed Skylake-S Mainstream Desktop Processor Family – Roadmap To Q4 2015 – Q1 2016 Detailed

We know that Intel initially revealed it two processors the Core i7 6700K and Core i5 6600K which are part of Skylake-K(Unlocked CPU), but yesterday the rest of the lineup was officially revealed with the newer SKU’s based on the 6th Generation Skylake micoarchitecture. The Mainstream desktop processor family is made up of total 10 SKU’s all these processors will be compatible with LGA 1151 socket powered Z170, H170 and B150 chipset based motherboards. Mainstream Intel Skylake-S Processors 65W (Intel Pentium/ Core i3 / Core i5 / Core i7)

The mainstream lineup consist of 10 chips and feature a 65W TDP and Core i5 model packed with 6MB L3 Cache while i7 model gets 8 MB L3 Cache. It includes the Core i7-6700 yeah but no K that’s right it features the same specifications as the Core i7-6700K but is not unlocked. Same is for Core i5 6600. Clocks of Core i7-6700 and Core i5-6600 are maintained at 3.4Ghz and 3.3Ghz respectively while a boost of 4.0Ghz and 3.9Ghz respectively. The Core i5 6500 is a Quad-core processor clocked at 3.2Ghz base and 3.6Ghz boost. Core i5 6400 is Quad-core clocked at 2.7Ghz base and 3.3Ghz boost. The lineup also consist of Multi-threaded Core i3 and single threaded Pentium processors

Low TDP Intel Skylake-S Processors 35W (Pentium / Core i3 / Core i5 / Core i7)

Just as usual whenever Intel launches its new generation of processors there’s always to expect T-series chips. Yes over the power efficient side, Intel did revealed its T-Series chips which stand for low power. The 6th Generation T-series will consist of 4 chips, all chips will feature just 35W TDP and include Core i7-6700T as a multi-threaded quad core with 2.8Ghz base clock and 3.6Ghz boost clock. Well the series consist of also Core i5, Core i3 and Pentium chips all operating at 35W TDP. The Core i3 will be available for under $ 150 US and the Pentium under $ 100 US.


Intel Skylake Goes Mobile – Intel Iris Pro Powered Skylake-U

Intel has also introduced their new mobility based lineups which include various Skylake families namely Skylake-U, Skylake-H, Skylake-H Xeon and Skylake-Y. All these will launch in the upcoming months. These 6th Generations mobile processors will be the first to support DDR4 memory or laptops and notebooks which is a great and plus point for Intel. Apart from these the new mobility devices will fully support Windows 10 OS and feature Intel WiDi, True Key, Intel RealSense and Cortana support. Plus also a great point for casual gamers the new mobility devices will come packed with Intel Latest HD 5000 graphics core that will fully support DirectX 12.
